Land Rover Repair: Discovery brakes, vacuum line, vacuum tube

Question
I had a bad brake booster.  I replaced, after replacing brake lights stay on
when switch is on.  Is there an adjustment for pedal.  The switch at pedal is
not being depressed.  I took the aluminum spacer off between brake booster
and firewall, this is  too much removed and is forcing a second switch at
pedal(it has a vacuum line) out of bracket.  i know it is probably something
simple.  can you help

Answer
You need to put the spacer back.  The second switch that has been forced out with the vacuum tube is the cruise control switch.  The other switch is the brake light and, if applicable, the shifter interlock switch (so you can't take it out of park without putting on the brake).  The switch is adjustable by pulling the plunger out of the switch, which resets automatically when fitted.  If it is broke, replace the switch.  These are cheap.
