how involved is pulling intake besides removing 4 bolts on top of intake and thank you for your help

how do we replace ignition coil on a 2001 discovery it is between engine and firewall and do we need to pull intake if so how do we

You have to remove the intake to access the coils.  It's a 3-4 hour job.  I suggest fitting ne wplugs and wires at the same time because it's so much work to get at them.

Answer
There is quite a bit around it - the throttle body; the throttel body heater hoses; alternator may be in the way; etc.

Look closely and you'll see why I told you it took that long.

There is no special trick to it but there's a lot to remove and refit.
