Land Rover Repair: battery going flat, range rover p38, door switches

Question
range rover p38 4.0 1997 fitted new altenater but if i dont run car every day battery go flat had car in garage they said there was no drain on battery any idea thank you

Answer
Hi Sean,

could be your air compressor for your suspension system.  If there is a leak somewhere, the compressor could be kicking in and consequently slowly draining your battery.  Another possiblility could be corroded wires that are shorting out and draining the battery at the same time.  Exterior light bulbholders are prone to this as are door switches (those spring-loaded knobs on the door frame).

Best of luck,
