Land Rover Repair: Clunking noise in 96 LR Discovery, land rover discovery, cv joints

Question
I inherited a 96 Land Rover Discovery with 93800 miles from my late brother.  When I make a sharp left or right turn, I hear and feel a "clunk" like something under the car hitting or rubbing something else under the car.  Any idea what this might be?  My brother had work done on both front CV joints earlier this year.  The last time (late May) he took it in complaining about the noise, they found nothing.

Answer
You might have a failing CV joint in the front axle, or you might have a clunk for loose suspension bushings.  You'll have to put it on a lift and check it out.  The only way to check the CV joints (unless they click when driving with the wheel turned) is to dismantle the front axle.
