Land Rover Repair: Door locks: 95 Range Rover, body control module, repair person

Question
I have this 95 RR and the door locks work fine when pushing up/down on the locks (manually).  When using the key...nothing happens...the key switch is working (tested w/ohmeter).  All info says body control module under passenger seat is controller...this unit is not plugged in.  How does the door locks work with this unit unplugged?  Plugging it in does nothing different.  I don't know why someone unplugged it.

Answer
Bryan, I see you are a professional repair person from your identical post on IATN.  You can go to www.landrovertechinfo.com and pay $18 to get a day's access to their database.  It's the factory site and all the test info you need is right there.

Make sure you know which style Rover you have - a Classic or a P38.  From your description, I think you have a Classic but they are both in there.

Select electrical troubleshooting manual.

In the Classic the alarm ECU controls the central locking.  If it's unplugged the power locks won't work.
