Land Rover Repair: 98 D1 keyless entry remote, button remotes, john thanks

Hi John,

Thanks for your help in the past.  

Is the 17TN remote a suitable (workable) replacement for the 3TXB?  I am looking to add another remote and I have 3TXB and a 17TN so if the 17TN will work, can the 3TXB be assigned to the same vehicle?

I have been made aware that they will have to be programmed by the dealer.

In the USA we don't refer to remotes by the numbers you are citing.

The only remote that works on the 98 D1 (If you have the system we have in the USA) is the square one with rounded corners and two round push buttons.

That remote would have to be programmed at the dealer.

The single button remotes, and the newer remote that in integrated with the key do not work with this system.

I know LR uses different alarms and remotes in other parts of the world, so I really suggest you seek advice from a local dealer as your system may not be the one I am accustomed to seeing.
