Land Rover Repair: Jump starting, battery problem, battery voltage

Question
Hi,  I heard years ago that it's hard on your vehicle and you should avoid jump starting another vehicle if possible.

Recently my husband jump started our neighbor's car and his truck with my Landrover.  The following two weeks it seemed to struggle a little when I started it and yesterday it wouldn't start at all.

Some clients of mine reiterated what I heard years ago and said that it's not good on your vehicle to jump start others.  I'd like to know your opinion.

Thanks for you time

Answer
Kara, I think you either had a pre existing battery problem or it's just your imagination.  If the jumping caused a problem it would have been a bad one, and it would have happened right then

If you truly believe your Rover is struggling to start measure the battery voltage.  It must not drop below 10.5 volts while cranking.  If it does, get a new battery.  And make sure your terminals are clean.

The hazard jumping one car from another would be if you shorted the cables while doing the jump.  If you didn't do that there should not be a problem.
