Question -
I have a 1995 range rover 4.0 and I'm getting the "gear box fault" message could it be the gear box oil has not been changed? The car was running fine and out of nowhere it happened, it still runs fairly well besides the hesitant startups which is caused by the "gear box fault" do you know how expensive it is if it needs fixing.

Answer -
Very oftenly there is no problem at all. So, you should check the stored fault codes in any LR service, and clear it. Many times just the low voltage generate false fault codes.

Otherwise the gear position switch use to go wrong, It doesn't give correct position information...

So, no fear!

Answer
I didn't said that, but very oftenly there is absolutely no problem, and enough to clear the faults.

Be cause when the "GEAR BOX FAULT" text is displayed, the limp home mode activated in the transmission, and the engine control, which causing lower performace.

If you read the faults, please send it for me EXACTLY.
