Land Rover Repair: 2003 discovery, engine management computer, electrical issues

Question
Hi.  Just bought a 2003 Discovery and every so often (once every 50 or so) starts it won't turn over and start.  Battery is fine.  We are having a new starter installed.  Are there any other potential issues that could be causing this?  We'ce have since heard the land rovers have lots of electrical problems.  Should we cut our losses and get a different vehicle?

Answer
If your Rover cranks over but does not start running you are wasting your money to fit a new starter.

If your Rover cranks but does not start I'd suggest you find a shop with a scan tool and have them look at the live data from the engine management computer.

2003 Discoveries are usually pretty good vehicles.  Most of teh electrical issues on older trucks were fixed by 2003.
