Land Rover Repair: Dash lights, wheel hub, speed sensors

Question
I was out four wheeling one night and going though some pretty rocky stuff when all at once three light came on on my dash. The ABS light anti-lock brakes), TC (traction control), and my hill decent light. I am a mechanic and I do know what the lights all stand for and I also know that none of these functions are opperating on my 1999 disco.II. What I am woundering is there a way to fix it without going to the dealer. I thinking that it is in the brake system because they all link to the. The away that the trac control works is by brake on the spinning tire and hill decent the computer controls the braking. So maybe a computer problem.

Thank you for your time.

Answer
Jason, there is no way to read the codes from the computers without one of the special Land ROver test systems.  You may be able to find an independent with a system in the directory on www.rangerovers.net

Look for damage to the speed sensors - they are located on each wheel hub.  That's the most common problem when you see the light while off roading.

Also - excessive wheel slip off road may set a fault code, and if that's happened it will self-clear with a few days driving on the roads
