Land Rover Repair: ABS Modulator, hydraulic block, quiet noise

Question
I have a Disco S2 V8 model year 2000. The ABS modulator unit - large ally block on right hand side of engine bay has a constant clicking sound like a valve shuttling. Its quite a quiet noise but constantly there even with ignition key removed. Only way to stop it is to remove electrical connection to the hydraulic block? No warning lights, everything works OK but I suspect this noise should not be there - still there no matter how long vehicle is left turned off.

Answer
I am not sure why you would be getting the noise you describe.  If your description is right there may be a problem with the ABS relays or controller.

I suggest you have it tested at the dealer or an independent shop with the specialist LR test gear.  OBD II scanners can't talk to ABS brakes, so you need a specialist.
