Hi Bill,

common problem with LR. You could remove the door panel and expose the frame to see what is happening.  Could be as simple as the sliding guide 'wheel' has jumped out of the window runner.

Here is a free website that may give you insight into this window problem (pardon the pun):

www.discoweb.org\rearwindowregulator\index.htm

Yes, it's the rear window regulator and NOT the front window.   The same method used on the rear window is used for the front windows too!  These instructions and photos give you an idea on how the front window works.  I don't know of any other websites that have such good photos on this type of repair.  Obviously, if I did, I'd send you there.

Of course, I suggest you bookmark this excellent site for future reference.  At least it won't cost you like the GTR site from LR.

Hi Bill,

you'll need a long, thin prying tool and careful technique.  Remove the interior door handle casing, speaker and handrail.  Carefully insert your prying tool between the panel and the metal door and prise evenly all around the panel.  As you are prying, you'll hear the ribbed plugs giving way.  These plugs are what hold the panel to the metal door frame.  Some can break, so you have to be careful.

Don't be in a hurry to pry off the panel all at once.  Start at "12 o'clock" and go all around the panel a small amount at a time.  Eventually, the panel will pry off.  IF you break any of the plugs, not to worry, you can replace them from the dealer.

Once the panel is off, you can peel back the plastic moisture barrier and then determine why your glass is not rising.

Best of luck,
