Land Rover Repair: Electric windows & engine fuse box, fuse boxes, electrical fuse

Question
I am having trouble with my electic windows which don't always work.  Sometimes they all work, sometimes the back works, front don't, sometimes everything but the driver's side.  When they work, they work smoothly.  They might all work for days at a time, then one will stop, or two, etc.

I have been told it might be a problem with the engine electrical fuse box and that the BCM relies on this fuse box for nearly all it's live feeds.  The fuse box tends to suffer from internal corrosion.  The recomendation is that the fuse box be replaced and if that doesn't fix it, then possibly it is the BCM at fault.  No codes show up.  This is a 1997 Discovery SE.  Former owner replaced, battery, alternator, window motor driver's side, starter.

I don't see replacement fuse boxes anywhere as a regular replacement part, so I wonder if this info is correct.  If not, what could cause this problem?

Answer
First, you need may to find a more competent repair facility, because the 1997 Disco does not have a BCM controlling windows.

There is no such thing as "window codes" as your message implies.  All tests are done manually.

There is a window ECU that controls the back windows, and it does often fail.  You can replace it or bypass it.

Fuseboxes are known to corrode, esp. if the windshield leaks onto them.
