Land Rover Repair: 99 Land Rover Disco II stalling, obd ii scan tool, coolant level

Question
I was driving last night and car went dead just as i hit accelerator and car downshifted.  SES light flipped on and car was coasting.  I put into neutral and tried to restart, nothing.  All electrical was up and running.  Coasted into gas station and tried to start to no avail and parked it to call tow.  Sat for 1.5 hrs waiting for tow and went back to car and it then started, no more SES light, drove to a repair shop???  Car seesm to be running hot but no isues with temp gauge.  Oil was fine, coolant level fine.  New plugs and wires cap and rotor all within 3 mos from dealer.  New head gaskets also.  Put in full tank of premium same day of stall.

Answer
You should check the car with an OBD II scan tool and see what faults are stored.  That may give some clue to what happened.  Without seeing your car I'm not sure what else to suggest.

As to running hot - don't do it!  I have an article in this issue of the Rover News on overhearting damage.  Read that.
