Land Rover Repair: AC Leak-Floors wet, worst case scenario, condensate drains

Question
2000 Discover II with 65,000 miles.  I saw an answer of yours a wile back about the AC leaking and the floors getting wet, also swishing of water when you turn etc.  We have that problem!  It only happens when the AC is running.  My husband couldn't see well enough under the truck to find the panel? he needed to deal with.  Can you discribe again the fiz to this problem so that he or a mechanic can fix as the car is so musty/moldy now.  Thanks a million John,
MK

Answer
Hi MK...

here's a website that has loads of helpful information for your Disco and this problem:

www.discoweb.org

Go to the bulletin board area and search for "water leaks".  Other owners have this problem (we all do!) and there is an entry that states:

" Crawl under the vehicle and look up high on either side of the bellhousing. You'll see two, little rubber teats that are the condensate drains for the A/C units. These harden with heat and age or get plugged up with gunge. Massage or snip to open - just be prepared for an armpit-full of funky water. Worst case scenario, it has to be 'rodded' to open the blockage."

That sloshing water may be something else, though.

Best of luck,
