Land Rover Repair: 96 Discovery V8, plenum chamber, vacuum leak

Question
I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE PISTON RINGS IN MY DAUGHTERS 1996 DISCOVERY V-8 50D ENGINE. I'VE HAD THE CYLINDER HEADS RESURFACED, VALVES GROUND AND NEW VALVE SEALS INSTALLED. I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLATION AND ON MY FIRST ATTEMPT HAD A VACUM LEAK AT THE PASSAGER SIDE REAR OF THE MANIFOLD.I USED GASKET SEALER BETWEEN THE HEAD AND THE GASKET AND ON THE GASKET TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. I AM ABOUT TO TRY MY SECOND ATTEMPT AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY SPECIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. WHAT TORQUE RATING DO THE INTAKE BOLTS GO DOWN AT? THANK YOU

Answer
Are you sure it was a vacuum leak problem? It's very rarely.

If you've cleaned the surfaces, you can use sealant, but only high temperature resist type, and it must be flexible (like silicone).
Take care the direction of the seal (you shouldn't take that
reverse direction!)
The torque is 35 Nm.

With that sealant you should smear the surfaces of the plenum chamber too. (25 Nm)

I hope I told you some new information.
