Land Rover Repair: 2000 landrover discovery II, V8, noisy, spark plug wires, landrover discovery

Question
We have replaced the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, transfer box and spark plug wires. The entire exhaust system has been checked and yet when the car is put in gear it still sounds like a World War II tank. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Answer
Sorry, there is not much way to diagnose noises over the Internet.

Noise sources are not hidden.  There is no trick to finding them.  Get under the car and use a long screwdriver or a stethoscope to listen to each component to isolate the noise source.

Catalysts can rattle; baffles in the mufflers can fall apart; heat shields can rattle; the list of noise sources is long.
