Land Rover Repair: Engine noise, problem wit, main bearing

While driving LR Disco started to make engine noise and the oil light came on. Checked oil, was fine. Vehicle now sounds really rough in engine compartment. Drove it today and it was rough getting up to 30 MPH, after 30 was a lot smoother but still sounded rough. Very loud noise.
Any ideas on possible problems is appreciated. 2003 LR Disco with 68,000 miles. Last oil change at 65,000 miles.

I hope you had stopped the engine when the oit check lamp had lit! If you hadn't the main bearing can damaged!

If the oil level is OK, then you can check the oil pressure.  At least 2 bar at idle. We hade much times these problems, there are two "frequently" problem wit these engines. The oil pressure regulator can stuck, and the oil pump can suck air at the gasket.
