Land Rover Repair: Brake Switch, locknut, brake switch

Recently my 96 disco has bee "stuck in park." After reading a lot of infor and calling the land rover people I decided it was my brake switch that was the problem. My question is how do i go about installing it? thanks for the help?

Hi Brett,

here is the LR tech info:

BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH
Service repair no - 18.30.66
Remove
1. Disconnect battery negative lead.
2. Disconnect switch wiring Lucars.
3. Loosen rear locknut.
4. Remove front locknut.
5. Remove switch from mounting bracket.
Refit
6. Reverse removal procedure.

Seems easy enough.  Hard part will be crawling up under the driver's dash.  That footwell area is kind of small.

A headlamp would make this even easier.
