the engine runs good (sounds like it is) but it doesn't move well (kind of bumpy) once it is warmed up, then it goes smooth.

-----Question-----
Car has about 126,000 miles on it. Car is sluggish/hesitates when first turned on, after it warms up (say 15-20mins) it runs fine; however, when on the highway and the speedometer reaches about 60 or so the speed starts to decrease and will not pick up speed until it reaches about 25-35mph then it picks up again. I recently had the throttle position switch replaced but apparently that did not do the trick. Any suggestions?

As for this problem, when you say sluggish, does the engine feel like it's running good, just doesn't move well or does the engine run crappy until it's warmed up?

Answer
Hi Teresa,

That AOD-E model of transmission in your car will need to be rebuilt. The seals inside the transmission have dried up and are hardened. They become pliable again when that warm up. Pressure in the transmission is leaking around the seals inside. I'm sorry, I wish I had better news for you. The cost for this repair should be around $1500 or less, but in that area. Please don't opt for a junkyard unit, they never work.
