Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Mercury Villager 96 3.0 6 cyl., mercury villager, fender bender

Our car is JUMPING everytime it shifts from 1rst to 2nd drive, after that it doesnt. It sounds like a big knock, so we think its the tranmission sistem something. Our mechanics says since the whole fuse assembly wa s messed up after the big accident we had,there is something wrong with the computer which guides shifting.the van has now 70.000 miles. Thanks a lot for your advice.Margret.P.D.Also would like to know which are the right sparkplug cables for it.

this could be very well in the compuiter your mech. could be so right if the compuiter was damagmed in a fender bender. The only thing to do is bring your car to a good tranny shop they can diagnostic test your compuiter and this is a free test at most trannys shops .

And it just might be reseting the compuiter . They would charge for that . But would be worth it .
