Mazda Repair: Is this car worth it? Is it dependable?, mazda dealership, rear brakes

Question
I have a '93 Mazda 626 my Dad bought 2 years ago. He has done a lot to it. It has all new belts, timing belt and idlers, all new hoses, new battery, alternator, radiator, rear brakes (even to the calipers),front brakes, good tires, distributor, cap and rotor, plugs and wires, air intake, and he repaired the muffler. The motor has approximately $140,000 miles on it but recently it dropped a valve. He can put new heads, gaskets, and rear main seal for $800-$900. I have $600 already invested in the car and live half way across the country so he can't work on it if something else goes wrong. I called a Mazda dealership and they told me the car wasn't worth fixing and wouldn't be dependable. I can afford maybe $2500 to replace it. Should I get something else or pay the $$ to fix this one?

Answer
sorry i don't give advice on how one should spend there money if you think it's worth it then fix it if not get something else

you know the car and what has been done to it
if you get a different one you dont know anything about that car so it's really up to you what you think is the better idea
