Mazda Repair: mx-3 ignition, coils, thanks in advance

I own a 1992 mx-3 with a 1.8 liter engine.The coil keeps failing. I've replaced the distributor assembly three times in the last eighteen months. Is there a better aftermarket ignition system or one where the coil isn't integrated with the distributor?

my 626 has the integral coil and i can telll you now that there is no aftermarket ignition systems. some thing has to be causing your coils to fail if you find this problem then you wont have to replace another coil for a long time. i still have the same coil i had in my car for four years with out any problems what so ever
