MG Car Repair: Battery

Question
Hi Howard.
My battery is way over the hill and I'm about to replace it. I've been running with a 44 amp. for the last 20 years but I just saw that I can get a 50 amp. that will fit in the batterybox. Will upgrading from 44 to 50 amp be a problem?
Best regards
Miller

Answer
Hi Miller,

The amp rating of a battery is only how long it can produce a current within a time span. So it does not matter if you go up on the amp rating. As long as the voltage is correct, you can use a higher amp rated battery. Just don't go to a lower amp rated battery then what the vehicle requires.
