MG Car Repair: Brake fluid., mg midget, bleeder valve

Question
howard,
i have a '75 mg midget and i got it CHEAP! its not in REAL bad shape. i went to bleed the brakes yesterday and i loosened the valve and had my son pump the brakes, but no fluid came out. i put fluid in the brake fluid container and it bubbled but still nothing came out. HELP!

Answer
Instead of opening the bleeder valve at the caliper try opening the line fitting at the master cylinder when he pumps the pedal. If you get fluid then move down to the wheel and try bleeding more. If you get no fluid then most likely the master cylinder is bad and either needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
