MG Car Repair: 1979 mgb wiper switch assembly, car harness, internal spring

Question
1979 MGB wiper switch has four contacts and an internal spring.  How does the spring fit into the body of the switch?  More specifically, which contacts do the legs of the spring touch when the switch is in the off position?  This is a two speed wiper with flick switch.

Sorry Ron, I did try to repair those switches when we were out of them but that was so many years ago I don't remember much about them other than most had different color coded wires than the car harness that the switch plugged into. I never found a wiring diagram of the colors as they crossed the plug connector.
Also I never found a source for any of the parts for the switches as many times just a small part broke but we just had to replace the switch.
