Military Vehicle Repair: SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE, speedometer needle, speedometer cable

Hi Jason

I know you're an expert in fixing military vehicles. I'm sure you can help me out with speedometer problem.

I drive a 92 nissan maxima

Yesterday, when I stepped on the gas pedal, my speedometer needle doesn't work.. it doesn't move at all.

Today 1:00PM, I drove my car and the speedometer needle is working again.

Today 5:00PM, I test drive the car again.. the speedometer needle doesn't move.

What kind of problem is it ?
Is it cheap to fix ?

well i am going to tell you that your problem is an easy fix and shouldn't be expensive at all.  what it most likely is is that your speedometer cable has a medal rod that goes into your transmission and in most cases it will wear down to where it gets loose and will freely spin and in some cases it will catch but it is most likely the speedometer cable
