Mitsubishi Repair: Dashboard lights & radio, dashboard lights, charging system

Hello Anthony.  Hopefully you can help me!  My 03 outlander radio died and not long after the dashboard lights went out.  The lights come back on only while the brakes are on?  Checked the fuses and everything seems to be fine.  Not sure if it has something to do with the volt?

Sometimes when a car's battery or alternator is experiencing problems, it'll turn off nonessential electrical systems in the car in order to conserve power to the more critical systems (like the ignition, fuel, and safety systems).  Have a mechanic check your charging system to determine if all the components are normal.
