Auto body repair & detailing: Simoniz System 5 Question (Dupont TEFLON protector), dupont teflon, miracle treatment

We just purchased a  new car and we are having Simoniz 5 applied to the painted metal surfaces...
Any problems with this product?

Thanks for asking.  I don't want to burst your bubble, but though the product is just fine, it really is just a good high grade wax/protectant.  A good detail shop will help you do the same for much less.  Dealers make quite a bit of money on this type of service.  Don't have this done again, is my opinion.  Today's cars with their clearcoats don't need any miracle treatment, and anything that says it will last more than a year is pure BS.  I've detailed hundreds of cars with special dealership treatments on them - inside and out.  They don't look or hold up any longer than the person that takes care of their car and details it once or twice a year.
Enjoy your new car, and my advice to new car owners is get a good set of rubber mats and a trunk liner and don't eat in your car! (That last part is mostly.....fantasy)
