Mitsubishi Repair: Large leak in evap emission system, 2003 mitsubishi galant, mitsubishi galant

Hi Kevin, I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4L which didn't pass emissions last week due to a large leak in the evap emission system. Do u have any idea what it might be? Also, about a month ago I was driving with the heater on and I got hot so I turned the heater off. Then I turned the temp dial from hot to cold and it made this horrific clicking sound that went from high to low several times then stopped. When I turned the temp dial back to hot it would only blow cold air. The next morning I turned the car on and let it warm up a bit and gave it some gas before putting it in gear and it made that same sound and I had heat. What do you think this could be and do you think it has anything to do with the large leak in revamp? Thanks.

I would think maybe your heater motor could be going, a electrical problem Check some wires behind the control panel for crimped wires and or damage. This could be related to your evap problem, this could shorting wires out if it is getting damp in anyway. I would take this to your local dealer before more problems happen if they have not yet.
