Question
I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, automatic and am having some trouble with the alarm system It won't let me start my car and I have tried everything to switch it off so It will start! I disconnected the battery and as soon as I plugged it in the alarm went off. I read the manual and did the put ym key in the lock and in the egnition and it still doesn't shut off until I close the door and let the alarm go until it's done but when I open the door it goes off!! I don't know what to do!! Please Help!!

Answer
Julia,
I believe you need the factory keyless entry remote (fob) to disable the alarm if turning the key in the door does not work. The factory alarm works when the doors are locked and unlocked by remote, ONLY. There is no simple wire to ground in this case to disarm it.

You may need to replace the OEM key fob from Mitsubishi, else contact your local dealership's service department.
Good luck!
