Mitsubishi Repair: transmission, 4 quarts, steel pieces

Question
Son-in-law changed oil,but drain the transmission fluid by mistake.Drove the car for about 4 days before I realized what had happen. Friend put in 4 quarts of transmission fluid and it work fine for about 6 months, having trouble in cold weather with transmission starting to slip. Should I let go or have the transmission flush.

Answer
Beatrice: You should have the flush and also have them change the filter to see what they might find in it. That would explain a lot of you, if there is a lot of steel pieces in that filter or the pan after they take that filter off. I would trade the car. You could also try putting in a transmission reconditioner  fluid too, that might also help your problem. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
