Chevrolet Repair: 2002 chevy malibu, chevy malibu, electrical wires

I need to replace a coolant sensor and am unable to locate it. This is for a chevy malibu 2002 3.1 ltr Please answer Thank You

The COOLANT SENSOR has 2 electrical wires going to it which are colored YELLOW and BLACK. IT is usually mounted in the coolant chamber of the intake manifold or down near the alternator.

WHAT makes you believe that this SENSOR is faulty ?.
