Mitsubishi Repair: 92 Mitsubishi Mirage Low idle, vacuum leaks, mitsubishi mirage

Hi there, I have a '94 Mitsubishi Mirage. Its 1500cc EFI, it has an extremely low idle about 200rpm. Once the car has warmed up it runs fine. But when the car is first started it stalls when under preassure untill it is warmed up. What would be the most likely solution to this? Thanks heaps

Jason:You could have a vacuum leak which could be hooked to the throttle body, or around the intake manifold. Once the engine warms up, any small hole will kind of close. But once the car cools down then the hole opens again. These vacuum leaks are often hard to find, so might have to let a shop try to find it for you. They could also set you idle up a bit too, should have the car coded you might have a weak sensor too. Also check the EGR valve, your stark plugs, stark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Other words when have you done a tune up last? How about the air filter might need changing. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
