Answer
Thad: Please don't get all upset with me over my next question... what was the car doing or what were you doing to the car before all this happen? I will give you a list out of my repair manual what might be your problem. One thing have your checked the stark plugs are they firing at all when you try to start the car. Because if not, you could have broke your timing chain. How old is the battery? It's cables? Broken, loose or disconnected wiring in the starting circuit. Ignition swich faulty. If the car getting fuel when you try to turn it over? Can you hear the fuel pump start, it would be only for a second or two. So turn off the radio and listen. If not your fuel pump could have gone out, the fuel is what keeps the fuel pump cool but with the cost of fuel we run our cars down to far. Should always keep a 1/4 tank of fuel in the car at all times, that is what keeps the fuel pump cool. So they do burn out because of that. When is the last time you did a tune up on your car? Stark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor? There is a crank angle sensor in the distributor cap, you could try to move the distributor forward or back to see if the car will start then? Could check out this site as there is recalls on your model and year of car. That might be your problem one of those recalls. http://www.mitsubishisucks.com
Hope this helps and good luck!
