Mitsubishi Repair: smoke from exhaust, mitsubishi eclipse gsx, 1997 mitsubishi eclipse gsx

Question
i have 1997 mitsubishi eclipse gsx i remove the in air intake to the  turbo there is no play in the tubo and it spins fine. but when i stop at a light alot of smoke comes out of the exahaust. what can i do to make sure it is the turbo.

Answer
John: I got to be honest here, I don't work much on cars with turbo. But if your car is smoking, that means that oil is getting passed the rings. So you need to do a compression check on your engine. Either get a repair manual at any parts store for around $20.00 and do it yourself or take the car to a shop. Explain what is happening and they will be able to help you. Hope this helps and good luck!
