Mitsubishi Repair: Starter overheating?, starter relay, ok check

Question
98 Galant 107K. starts when cold. When warmed up and turned off, turn key to start and everything dims like normal starting, but no starter engage. no solenoid click. nothing. Cool down 2 hr. then ok. Check engine light on, but have not had code checked yet. Recently noticed it needs thermostat. Could this be Overheat protection?

Answer
Steven:There is a lot of sensors on these cars and you most likely have more than one out. Get it coded and replace the sensors. Could be your starter relay is getting weak and it over heats. I tell people to buy a repair book on their cars, it explains a lot and then you have an idea where things are as well as how to fix them. Don't forget the replace the thermostat. But I think it is those sensors that are messing with your car and your head. :o) Hope this helps and good luck!
