Mitsubishi Repair: smoke amd noise, valve seals, combustion chamber

Question
I have 1997 eclipse, 2.0, gs, manual car. it's blowing smoke (mostly after i put a quart of oil in it ) the smoke is white colored, and the strange part is that it stops doing it for like 30 minutes, then the smoke is back, and then it goes off again. this happens at any moment. i have no oil leak. i'm putting like 1 quart of oil per week, and now it started to make a low ticking noise amd it gets louder the more i rev. it. i completly stopped using the car as of today, because i'm worried it might be something really expensive. taking the bus is a drag. thanks.

Answer
Gabriel,
It sounds like your valve seals and guides are leaking this oil into your combustion chamber and that oil is burning off into your exhaust.  The ticking noise is most likely the lack of oil that is getting to the lifters.  The ticking is a common issue among most Eclipses made between 89-99, but it's much more noticeable when your oil level gets low.

The only way to really remedy your problem is to pull the cylinder head and have it rebuilt.  This can cost anywhere between $300-$1000; depending on condition of the cylinder head, cost of parts, and labor rates.
Good luck!
