Motorcycle Repair: 96 KTM not sparking, path of least resistance, ktm 250

Question
I have a 1996 KTM 250 SX. Great condition...not beat into the ground. Was out riding the other day...killed it to get a drink...came back out and it wouldnt start. Ive checked the plug, the wire, kill switches...cant figure it out. All i know is that I'm not getting any spark at all. Asking around, Ive heard several possibilities...magneto stator, pulser, coil...Im not very mechanically inclined when it comes to 2-stroke dirtbikes. Any real clue as to what the issue may be? Would greatly appreciate some professional advice...instead of these best guesses Ive been getting. Thanks.

Answer
Chris, without testing any of the switches I cant just tell you how to fix it. The theory is that the kiil switch completes a ground for the power wire to the coil and then to the frame or ground. Electricity follows the path of least resistance. Recheck the push button kill switch as it may have crapped out.
