Motorcycle Repair: Plugs/Filter?, yamaha virago 750, carbs

Hi, first off thank you for your time. I purchased a yamaha virago 750  a few months ago, with only 3000 on it. it progressively ran worse and worse. It loses power if given anything over light throttle, it starts really hard, and runs even worse unless its choked. Im not very mechanically skilled, but i was guessing either the plugs or a filter

Not necessarily,If the bike has low milage its probably been sitting a while. The carbs may need to be gone thru and re-synced and fresh plugs. They do have a terrible starting system. The main jets are plugged thats why it cant accelerate off idle without falling on its face.
