Motorcycle Repair: 1999 yamaha grizzley 600, starter button, digital meter

Question
I cant get a constant spark at the plug.I have used a digital meter and shop manual to test all components  of the ignition system.I can remove the plus ground it and crank motor I get two or three sparks then nothing.let it set a minute crank again and thsame thing.Could it be my cdi is bad?All ignition components seem to be in tolerance by manual.Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.    Thanks  Larry

Answer
Larry its a good possibility that the cdi is out. Sometimes the cdi will start to work after you tap on it. Some Hondas are this way, push the starter button and may or may not see a spark let off and the spark returns. Most manuals dont have a really good and reliable test for the cdi's other than "Replace with known working unit". Some test huh?
