Motorcycle Repair: 1986 honda shadow 700 vt, honda shadow, promblem

i know you said you wouldnt answer questions other what you have stated  but iam going to ask this one.so here goes i have a 1986 honda shadow 700 vt. my promblem is i charged the battery on trickle over night and it rained . the next moring i tried to start it but nothing happened. now when i push the start button i blow a fuse can you HELP ME. jim

Well you clearly have a dead short in the system.  I would disconnect the negativ ebattery terminal first, then disconnect the cable to the starter.  Then reconnect the negative terminal and push the start button.  You should hear a click and the fuse should stay intact.  If the fuse blows, then you have a problem with the solenoid, or the connections to it.  If the fuse holds, it sounds like your starter has developed a problem, or the cable to the starter is shorting to the frame.  Good luck,  Jan
