Motorcycle Repair: honda atv., honda atv, electrical diagnosis

Question
Mark, i'm asking this ? for my DAD. He is a farmer who uses his HONDA 300 ATV for work. He tells me the vehicle is electronic shift and won't go into reverse. He claims 2 repair folks told him different fixes. One says the "angle sensor", another says battery is not fully charged to give enough juice. all the other grears work fine.  thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Dean,

The replies the techs gave may both be correct in the troubleshooting continuum.

The cause may be a loose electrical connection or ground, dirty or corroded connector, chaffed conductor wire, or defective electronic component. Electrical diagnosis needs to be performed to find the cause of the transmission problem.

Visit the following ATV resource website. Chat with other Honda ATV owners and see if they have the fix for the same symptoms/problem.
