Motorcycle Repair: 1992 FLSTC, good luck, debris

Question
Mike...I can't get rear wheel off. I followed the servive manual except cannot get debris cover off, therefore cannot drop wheel. I'm not a rookie but apparently not skilled enough!

Put a jack under the bike and lift it just enough so there is no weight on the rear wheel. Remove the axle and lift the bike and the wheel will stay on the floor as the bike lifts. Once you have the axle out you can push the wheel foward and remove the belt
