Motorcycle Repair: Wrapping exhaust pipes, fuel milage, fuelpak

Question
Installed a Big Sucker air cleaner, plus some used Screaming Eagle mufflers, a Vance & Hines Fuelpak, and to top it off I wrapped the pipes with heat wrap from head to mufflers.
It is faster, more powerfull, runs cooler, and as a bonus my fuel milage is better?????? Is it the heatwrap? According to "everybody", my milage should have gone down.

Answer
The heat wrap could have alot to do with it. As the exhaust gases travel away from the engine they normally cool. Since you have wrapped the pipes the gases are staying hotter longer and enhancing the scavenging effect. They are traveling faster away from the motor because they are not dissipating in temperature as they flow out. This in turn helps the valve train and the pistons. They are kept cooler by not having to work as hard to push the exhaust out of the system. The muffler change helped as well. I higher flowing exhaust allows the engine to breath more freely and thusly it doesnt work as hard to make power.
