Motorcycle Repair: Clutch Cable 2000 Ultraclassic., clutch lever, clutch cable

My cable broke at the clutch handle. How do you change the cable out?

Answer
First you have to remov ethe rear exhaust pipe and then drain the trans oil. Yu next have to remove the side cover, where the cable goes in. Once inside you will see how the cable is attached. remove the clutch lever and after you hve installed the cable in the trans and closed it up, install the new cable into the clutch lever. then adjust the clutch lever so you have about 1/8 inch play
