Motorcycle Repair: oil, crankcase breather, haritage

Question
i have a 1991 haritage has been sitting for few months when i tried to start it
the engine started burping oil from the crankcase breather filter. what should
my approach be.

Answer
What had happened is over time oil from the oil tank has weeped into the bottom end. When you start the bike the oil pump cant pump the oil back fast enough, so it comes out the breather. What you need to do is start the bike and let it run for a few minutes and it will clear itself.
