Motorcycle Repair: Smoke Problem, compression tester, plug hole

How can i check the compression of the bike? Please let me know as i am not that technical.

Answer
You will need to borrow or buy a compression tester, which plugs into the spark plug hole.  Spin the engine on the starter with the throttle wide open, to get a reading.  All readings on cylinders should be within 10% of each other.
