Motorcycle Repair: headlight issues, tx500, electrical question

Hey Jan
I've got an electrical question for you.
By the way, this is not a honda.. It's a Yammy TX500.  For that, I'm sorry..Disregard this if you wish.

Ignition switch:
Turn key one click, headlight doesn't work, bike will start up, blinkers work.
Turn key two clicks, headlight comes on, blinkers work, bike doesn't start.

Make any sense to you?

Doesn't make sense, but then it is a Yamaha...  Anyway, I would chase why the light is not coming on on click one.  Could be a fuse or a loose connection...  Two clicks I think is the parking position; can you remove the key?  If not then look for the reason why the engine doesn't start in the 2 click position; it does sound like a loose wire somewhere.
