QUESTION: Hi Mike, I have a 2000 Heritage with 106 cube S&S bottom end. I'm having electrical problems with the main circuit breaker cutting power supply, we have replaced the stator, regulator and main circuit breaker with new parts. If I disconnect the regulator it runs fine but soon as the charging system is reconnected after about 5 km it cuts out again. I hope you can help me Thanks Peter. Darwin Australia.

QUESTION: 13.8 volts  I also measured the amps with a DC amp meter 14amps at about 2000rpm but under load on the road it was reading over 35 amps

Answer
Since you have changed the parts you described the only thing it can be is there is a short in the wiring or you have a bad battery. Make sure the battery is good and not dry. If the battery is good then you are going to have to start tracing wires. You might have a chaffed wire touching the frame
Good luck and happy riding
